I have to hand it to the crew at Squadra Coppi because this is really smart. I don’t race as much road as I used to but I know smart when I see it and this is pretty f’ing smart. If you are out there in the Mid -Atlantic, East Coast or MABRA Land you should do the Giro Di Coppi. The race is hard, it’s go hills and it’s pretty much a good test of how much you can suffer.
I did it once. I also ate a Chilli dog and drank a beer that night. Because after doing that race you f’n earn it.
But I digress. the Coppi’s are pretty savvy and have a good promo running. I like free stuff and I’m stoked they are thinking this way. participate, register, race, suffer & get f’n stoked. It’s bike racing folks.

Are you tired of hearing me talk about our sponsors? Here’s your chance to win one of four $25 gift certificate for thanking YOUR OWN sponsor. Yes, you can get rewarded for doing what you should do anyway. Between now and 5pm Wednesday—-the same time as regsitration for this Saturday’s Giro closes on bikereg—there are three ways to win. Here’s how:
Twitter: Send a tweet to any company that currently sponsors a MABRA or Virginia team and thank the company for sponsoring local cycling. Include #girodicoppi. Example: “Having a great season. Thanks for supporting us @bikedoctor! #girodicoppi”
Facebook: Go to the Squadra Coppi facebook page and post a note that tags the MABRA sponsor you are thanking. Example: “Thanks @xocommunications and @unitedhealthcare for supporting local bike racing. We couldn’t make it happen without you.”
Facebook: Post a thank you directly on a sponsoring company’s facebook page and include @squadracoppi. Example “I appreciate your support of bike racing. I can’t wait to race this weekend @squadracoppi”
Two of the gift certificates will be for Vapiano, two will be for Freshbikes. You can enter up to three times (if you post once to twitter or Facebook with three different companies tagged, that is three chances to win. Or you can post three times.) Odds of winning: pretty frickin’ good. We are just having some fun, giving away prizes, and reminding people about our race, so help us out.
Little did Sascha know that by appearing in one Mr. Bubble Ad he would forever be marked with an affinity for pink. Not a bad thing in and of itself but it began to permeate through ever level and layer of his life.
Ultimately it was his cycling charges and their kit who paid the price. Deep in the recesses of Sascha’s head Mr. Bubble continued to hold court with his magical smile and blissed out Glastonbury three day bender eyes that truly made getting clean almost as much fun as getting dirty.
But, the team prevailed and Sascha soon returned to the industrial advertisement work by taking on the “Nutters for Nutella” campaign in Finland. Wild hazelnuts can’t slow him down now. Be free Sascha. Be free.
